Richmond International Airport

SP+ has been providing parking management services at KCI since 1999. This multi-terminal airport features an off-airport style facility, which offers express valet parking services to customers.

Off-airport parking was established in May of 2009, when KCI’s largest off-airport competitor ceased operations. Seeing an opportunity to capture a new market segment, KCI asked SP+ to manage the re-opening and re-branding of the facility. SP+ immediately developed a plan to ensure a smooth transition process. The facility was renamed Park Air Express, and now features a new valet-style offering to customers.

Effective marketing has been key to the success of Park Air Express. Online promotions, coupons, and partner programs are just a few of the strategies incorporated. The Park Air Express Frequent Parker Program includes a corporate program which appeals to commercial enterprises and their employees. Points can be redeemed for free parking, car washes, detailing and services, such as oil changes.

Improvements made at the facility include:

  • Bar code valet tickets for monitoring vehicles and traffic.
  • Vehicle inventory tracked by row and stall for faster, more efficient retrieval.
  • Online reservations and coupon capability.
  • A uniquely branded, automated Frequent Parker Program with PCI compliant credit card on file and express checkout.
